Rudolph Lohmeyer, of the U.S. Department of State's Office of Strategic and Performance Planning, initiated and directs Project Horizon, an effort that brings together USG senior executives from global affairs agencies and the National Security Council to conduct long-term, interagency strategic planning. Prior to joining the State Department, Mr. Lohmeyer was part of Deloitte Consulting's strategy practice, working both in the private and public sectors. His focus there was long-term strategic planning. Previously, Mr. Lohmeyer was an investment banker with Tanner & Company in New York focused on mergers and acquisitions advisory work, a Group Manager at Adobe Systems for eBusiness strategy, and an adjunct fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. He is currently also a Senior Advisor for Strategy at the Center for the Study of the Presidency, led by Dr. David Abshire. He received his BA from Stanford University in Critical Theory and both his MBA in Finance and MPP in International Policy (with honors) from the University of Chicago.
