BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Honorable Gerald L. Baliles is Director of the University of Virginia's Miller Center of Public Affairs, the mission of which is to reflect, research and report on matters of national governance, with special focus on the American Presidency. Baliles previously served as a Virginia legislator, Attorney General (Outstanding Attorney General in 1985) and Governor (1986-1990). During his tenure as Governor he was Chairman of the National Governors Association. As a member of the law firm of Hunton and Williams, he chaired the section on international law and practiced aviation law, as well as chaired such national and regional entities as the Presidentially-appointed Commission on Airline Competitiveness, the Southern States Energy Board, the Chesapeake Bay Blue Ribbon Panel, the Education Quality Committee of the Southern Regional Education Board, the AGB Commission on Academic Presidency, and the AGB Commission on the State of the Presidency in Higher Education. In addition, Baliles provided leadership in establishing Miller Center projects such as the National War Powers Commission, the Caplin Conference on the World Economy, and the National Discussion and Debate Series. He serves on the Boards of Altria and Norfolk Southern, was Chairman of PBS for multiple terms, has served on several other civic and corporate Boards, including Newport News Shipbuilding, the Nature Conservancy in Virginia, and the Virginia Historical Society, holds honorary degrees from eleven institutions of higher education, and resides in Charlottesville, Virginia, with his wife, Robin Deal Baliles.

Mr. Andrew F. Barth is President of Capital Guardian Trust Company, Chairman of Capital International Limited, Executive Vice President of Capital Group International, Inc. and Vice Chairman of Capital International Research, Inc. He also serves as a Director for the Capital Group Companies, Inc. He is a member of the Global Institutional Group Executive Office, the Capital Group Companies Management Committee, the Fixed-Income Management Committee and the Fixed-Income Executive Committee. Barth graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University (Phi Beta Kappa) and completed his MBA at Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He is based in Los Angeles. Other civic duties include serving on the Board of Trustees for the American Ballet Theater, the California Science Center Foundation, Pomona College, and the Board of overseers for the Columbia Business School and the Huntington Museum, Library and Gardens.

The Honorable Wayne L. Berman was appointed by George Bush to be Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Policy in January 1989, a post from which he was the principal adviser to the Secretary of Commerce, served as the official US liaison to foreign business groups and oversaw more than 60 projects that resulted in new export orders for U.S. goods. Berman is the founder of Berman Enterprises, a lobbying and business consulting firm, which merged with Ogilvy Government Relations in January 2004, where he is now Managing Director. He is the Vice Chairman of JLT America, a London-based international insurance brokerage. Berman has played a substantive political role in almost every Republican Presidential campaign of the last generation and was a senior advisor to the Bush/Cheney transition in 2001, the Vice Presidential Campaign Director for Dole/Kemp and Deputy Director of the Republican National Convention in 1996, Director of Congressional relations during the Bush/Quayle campaign in 1988 and a Deputy Director of the Bush/Reagan transition team in 1981. A native of Rochester, NY, Berman received his BA from the University of Buffalo and attended graduate school at Georgetown.

Mr. Eli Broad is a renowned business leader who built two Fortune 500 companies, SunAmerica Inc. and KB Home (formerly Kaufman and Broad Home Corporation), from the ground up over a five-decade career in business. Today, Eli Broad and his wife, Edythe, are devoted to philanthropy as founders of The Broad Foundations, which they established to advance entrepreneurship for the public good in education, science and the arts. Their philanthropy is focused on dramatically improving urban K-12 public education through better governance, management, labor relations and competition, on advancing innovative scientific and medical research in human genomics, stem cell research and inflammatory bowel disease, and on fostering public appreciation for contemporary art for audiences worldwide through an innovative lending library of contemporary artworks. From 2004- 2009, Broad served as a Regent of the Smithsonian Institution by appointment of the U.S. Congress and the President; he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a recipient of the 2007 Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy and the 2009 David Rockefeller Award from the Museum of Modern Art, and in 1994, he was named Chevalier in the National Order of the Legion of Honor by the Republic of France.

The Honorable Nicholas R. Burns is Professor of the Practice of Diplomacy and International Politics at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government and a member of the Board of the School's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. He is Chair of the School's Middle East Initiative and a new program on India and the Subcontinent. He is Director of the Aspen Strategy Group, Senior Counselor at the Cohen Group, a member of the Trilateral Commission and Council on Foreign Relations and of several Boards, including the Richard Lounsbery Foundation and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. He served for 27 years in the American Foreign Service including as Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs (2005-2008), U.S. Ambassador to NATO (2001-2005), U.S. Ambassador to Greece (1997-2001), State Department Spokesman (1995-1997) and for five years (1990-1995) was a member of the National Security Council Staff at the White House on Russian Affairs.

Mr. Jay Collins is Global Co-Head of Citigroup's Public Sector Group, which is responsible for managing the firm's relationships with sovereign governments, municipalities, and supranational clients around the world. Since joining Citigroup, Collins has held various management positions in Europe, Latin America and Japan, and has advised governments and corporations on large scale financings, M&A and privatizations on every continent. Collins has a Masters Degree from Georgetown University and is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Colorado College. He also serves as Chairman of the U.S.-Pakistan Business Council, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the United Arab Emirates' Securities and Commodities Authority, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Mr. Robert A. Day is Founder and Chairman of the TCW Group, Inc., an investment management firm with more than $130 billion in assets under management, and Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of the W.M. Keck Foundation, one of the nation's largest philanthropic organizations, with assets of more than $1.3 billion. He is a Director of Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc, McMoRan Exploration Co., Société Générale, a member of the Board of Governors of the Broad Foundations, and a former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Claremont McKenna College.

The Honorable Joseph Duffey is a member of the University Council, University of Liverpool, and the Board of Advisors of the 21st Century Trust Foundation in the United Kingdom. He is Trustee Emeritus of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Chancellor and Professor Emeritus of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Duffey served as Director of the United States Information Agency and was President of American University in Washington, DC, and Chancellor and President of the University of Massachusetts. He was Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities under Presidents Carter and Reagan, Adjunct Professor at Yale University and Fellow of the JFK School of Government at Harvard University. Duffey holds honorary degrees from fourteen American colleges and universities and in 1993 was awarded the honorary Doctor of Letter by Ritsemaken University in Japan. In 1980 he was named Commander of the Order of the Crown by the King of Belgium. He has been a member of the Council on Foreign Relations since 1979. A native of West Virginia and a graduate of Marshall University, Duffey received graduate degrees from Yale University, Andover Newton Theological School and the Hartford Seminary Foundation. He has published widely on themes relating to higher education and social and economic issues. Duffey has been Stern Lecturer at Syracuse University, Lund Lecturer at Northwestern University, Sparkman Lecturer at the University of Alabama, and Lesser Lecturer at the University of Southern California.

Mr. Bradford M. Freeman is a General Partner of Freeman Spogli & Co., a private equity firm formed in 1983 with offices in Los Angeles and New York devoted exclusively to investing together with management in growing companies. Since its founding, Freeman Spogli & Co. has organized the acquisition of 42 companies with aggregate transaction values in excess of $16 billion. Freeman received his AB degree, with distinction, in economics from Stanford University in 1964 and his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1966. He is currently a Board member of Edison International (Southern California Edison) and CB Richard Ellis. Besides his business activities, he serves on the Boards of Trustees of The Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, USC Annenberg School for Communication in Los Angeles, the National Collegiate Athletic Association Foundation and served as Trustee of Stanford University from 1995-2005.

The Honorable Chuck Hagel is a Distinguished Professor at Georgetown University and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He is Co-Chairman of the President's Intelligence Advisory Board, Chairman of the Atlantic Council, a Member of the Secretary's Defense Policy Board and Board of Directors of Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). He also serves on the Advisory Boards of Deutsche Bank Americas, Corsair Capital, Pfizer's Emerging Markets and Developed Economies Boards, M.I.C. Industries, and National Interest Security Company (NISC); is a Director of Wolfensohn and Company and the Zurich Holding Company of America; and is a Senior Advisor to McCarthy Capital Corporation. Hagel served two terms in the United States Senate (1997-2009) representing the state of Nebraska. He was a senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations; Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs; and Intelligence Committees, and chaired Subcommittees of the Foreign Relations and Banking Committees. Hagel also served as the Chairman of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China and the Senate Climate Change Observer Group. Prior to his election to the U.S. Senate, Hagel was president of McCarthy & Company. He co-founded VANGUARD Cellular Systems, Inc., is a Vietnam combat veteran and former Deputy Administrator of the Veterans Administration, and is the author of America: Our Next Chapter.

Dr. Malik M. Hasan is a neurologist. He is currently Chairman and CEO of Healthtrio Company (Health Information Technology), which he founded. Previously he founded and was U.S. Delegate to the Human Rights Commission and was a member of the Presidential Commission on Arts. He has been awarded several patents in the area of Health Information Technology.

The Honorable Stuart W. Holliday is the President and CEO of Meridian International Center, a leading non-partisan public diplomacy institution located in Washington, DC. Prior to joining Meridian, he served as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations for Special Political Affairs from 2003- 2005. From 2000- 2001, Holliday served as Special Assistant to the President and Associate Director of Presidential Personnel at the Department of State. From 1998-2000, he served as Assistant Policy Director to then Governor of Texas. He has also served as Executive Director of the Dallas Council on World Affairs and as Regional Director for North Africa, the Middle East and Turkey at the International Republican Institute where he worked on political reform and elections. Holliday is also life member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Chair of the National Capital Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Council of American Ambassadors and The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES).

Mr. Summerfield K. Johnston, Jr. is the retired Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Coca-Cola Enterprises, Inc., the world's largest marketer, distributor, and producer of bottled and canned liquid nonalcoholic refreshment. He served in this position from 1991- 2001. Johnston was elected to the Board of Directors of Johnston Coca-Cola Bottling Group, Inc. in 1956 and served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 1979-2001. He is a retired member of SunTrust Banks, Inc. and SunTrust Bank of Chattanooga, N. A. He is a Trustee of The University of Chattanooga Foundation, Inc. He is a past President of the United States Polo Association and remains an active member of the USPA Board. Johnston is the grandson of James F. Johnston, the first franchised Coca-Cola bottler.

The Honorable David Gergen is a senior political analyst for CNN and has served as an adviser to four U.S. Presidents. He is a Professor of Public Service and the Director of the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School. In 2000, he published the best-selling book, Eyewitness to Power: The Essence of Leadership, Nixon to Clinton. Gergen got his start in public life as a speech writer in the Nixon White House. He went on to serve as Director of Communications for Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan and as an adviser to Bill Clinton and to the 1980 George H.W. Bush Presidential campaign. Gergen contributes to the U.S. News & World Report as Editor-at-Large and appears frequently on CNN as a political analyst. He sits on many Boards, including Teach for America, the Aspen Institute, and Duke University. Gergen holds degrees from Yale (BA, 1963) and Harvard Law School (LLB, 1967). He served as an officer in the U.S. Navy from 1967-1971.

The Honorable Max M. Kampelman was appointed by President Reagan in 1985 to serve as Chairman of the United States Delegation Negotiation with the Soviet Union on nuclear arms reductions. Kampelman received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Clinton, the Presidential Citizens Medal from President Reagan, the Knight Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, and was one of the first recipients of the Library of Congress "Living Legend" awards. Kampelman has held numerous diplomatic posts and government positions, including: Ambassador to the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe (1980-1983); Ambassador and Head of the United States Delegation to the Negotiations with the Soviet Union on Nuclear and Space Arms in Geneva (1985-1989); and Counselor of the Department of State (1987- 1989). Kampelman serves as Chairman Emeritus of the American Academy of Diplomacy, Georgetown University's Institute for the Study of Diplomacy and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars and serves in numerous capacities at the American Bar Association. He has served on the faculties of Bennington College, Claremont College, the University of Wisconsin and Howard University, has served on the governing Boards of a number of universities and has received 13 honorary doctorates. Kampelman received both his PhD and MA from the University of Minnesota, his JD from New York University School of Law and his BA from New York University. He is admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia; Maryland; and New York.

The Honorable Charles T. Manatt is the Chairman emeritus and founder of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, L.L.P. He also serves as the co-Chairman of Manatt/Jones Global Strategies. Previously, Manatt was the founding Chairman of the First Los Angeles Bank and served as President of the California Bankers Association. His political involvement has included serving as the Chairman of the California Democratic Party, as well as the Western Conference and as National Finance Chairman. He concluded his party service as the National Party Chairman. Manatt served as co-Chairman of the Clinton/Gore Presidential campaign in 1992. Manatt is and has been a member of many Boards and advisory groups. He served as a founder of the National Endowment for Democracy, as the founding Chairman of the National Democratic Institute, and as Chairman of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems. Currently, he is President-elect of the Council of American Ambassadors.

The Honorable Thomas F. McLarty III has a distinguished record of business leadership and public service, including various roles advising three Presidents - Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, for whom he served as White House Chief of Staff, Counselor to the President, and Special Envoy for the Americas, with more than five years of service in the President's Cabinet and on the National Economic Council. Previously, McLarty was Chairman and CEO of Arkla, a Fortune 500 natural gas company with operations in 11 states. He currently serves as President of McLarty Associates, an international strategic advisory firm, and as Chairman of the McLarty Companies, a fourth-generation family transportation business with operations in the United States, Brazil, and China. Additionally, he serves as Board member and advisor to a number of private and non profit organizations, including Union Pacific, the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund, and the Council of the Americas, and is also a senior counselor to the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a senior international fellow at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. McLarty has been honored with the highest civilian awards of seven Latin countries, as well as the U.S. Secretary of State's Distinguished Service Medal.

The Honorable Edwin Meese III is the Ronald Reagan Distinguished Fellow and Chairman of the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC. He is also a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University in California. He served as the 75th Attorney General of the United States from 1985-1988. He also served as Counselor to President Ronald Reagan from 1981-1985.

Mr. Paul Neely is the former editor and publisher of The Chattanooga Times. He retired in 1999 when the paper was sold and since then has been engaged in various civic and educational activities. In addition to organizations in Chattanooga, where he was named Philanthropist of the Year in 2002, he has been involved with the Tennessee judicial system in numerous ways, as a Trustee at Williams College and the Clark Art Institute, and now as Chair of the Smithsonian National Board. He holds a BA in political economy from Williams College and an MS in Journalism and an MBA, both from Columbia University.

The Honorable Thomas R. Pickering retired from the State Department in 2000 as Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs. In a diplomatic career with service in each of the major continents, Pickering also served as U.S. Ambassador to the Russian Federation, India, Israel, El Salvador, Nigeria, and Jordan. He also was the U.S. Ambassador and Representative to the United Nations in New York, and has held additional positions in Tanzania, Geneva, and Washington, including as Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Oceans, Environmental and Scientific Affairs and as Executive Secretary of the Department and Special Assistant to Secretaries of State William P. Rogers and Henry A. Kissinger. After retiring from the State Department, Pickering joined the Boeing Company as Senior Vice President of International Relations and is currently Vice-Chairman of Hills and Company International Consultants, while also serving on several not-for-profit Boards.

Mr. H. Gregory Platts is Treasurer of the National Geographic Society where he is responsible for global investment and banking activities. He joined National Geographic in 1980 and has held posts of Vice President for Budget and Planning and Treasurer of the Society's Education Foundation. Prior to 1980, he was as an investment analyst and financial writer at Yale University and a trust officer at the Union Trust Company of Washington. He is a member of the CFA Institute and a former President of the Washington Society of Investment Analysts. Platts is past Chairman of the Board of the American Red Cross Blood Services - Chesapeake and Potomac Region. He has been a Trustee of Decatur House -- a National Trust historic property, St. Albans School, the National Presbyterian School, and the Westmoreland Congregational Church in Bethesda. He currently serves on the Boards of Chevy Chase Trust Company and ASB Capital Management in Maryland and as a Trustee of the Walter A. Bloedorn Foundation and the Hattie M. Strong Foundation in Washington.

Admiral Joseph Prueher, USN (RET.) is a Consulting Professor at Stanford and Harvard Universities where he is a Senior Advisor on the Preventative Defense Project, working on dialogue for U.S.-China security matters. Prior to his foreign service as the U.S. Ambassador to the People's Republic of China for two years, Admiral Prueher served 35 years in the U.S. Navy, holding the positions of Commander-in-Chief of the U.S. Pacific Command; Commandant at the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis; Commander of the Carrier Battle Group ONE; Commander of the U.S. Mediterranean Sixth Fleet and of NATO Striking Forces in Italy; and Vice Chief of Naval Operations in the Pentagon. Prueher has received multiple military awards for combat flying and naval and Joint Service, and has been honored with induction into the highest military Orders of the governments of Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Australia. In addition to co-authoring the Performance Testing Manual used by naval test pilots for many years, he has published numerous articles on leadership, military readiness, and Pacific region security issues.

The Honorable Thomas J. Ridge is President and CEO of the international consulting firm Ridge Global. He served as the nation's first Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security from January 2003-January 2005 and as the Assistant to the President for Homeland Security from October 2001-December 2002. Previously, he was Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from 1995-October 2001 and a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1983-1995. A Vietnam combat veteran, Secretary Ridge continues to work with organizations to assist our nation's veterans, serves as Chairman of the National Organization on Disability and co-chairs the Flight 93 National Memorial.

The Honorable Charles S. Robb is a former Governor and U.S. Senator from Virginia, where he served on the Armed Services, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations Committees. He spent the 1960s on active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps (including command of an infantry company in Vietnam) before receiving a law degree from the University of Virginia and a Federal Appellate Clerkship. In 2004, he was appointed by President George W. Bush as co-Chairman of the Commission on the Intelligence Capabilities of the United States Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction, and served subsequently on the Iraq Study Group, the President's Intelligence Advisory Board, the Secretary of State's International Security Advisory Board and the Afghanistan Study Group. He currently serves on the FBI Director's Advisory Board, the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, the Critical Incident Analysis Group, the Center for Infrastructure Protection, the Council on Foreign Relations Independent Task Force on Pakistan and Afghanistan, and on the Boards of the MITRE Corporation (as Vice Chairman), the Space Foundation, the Concord Coalition, the Bipartisan Policy Council, the Thomas Jefferson Project in Public Policy, the National Museum for Americans in Wartime, and Strategic Partnerships.

The Honorable Francis L. Rooney is the CEO of Rooney Holdings, Inc., and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Helmerich & Payne, Inc., Vetra Energy Group, the Trust for the National Mall, and the Advisory Board to the Panama Canal Authority. From mid-2005 until 2008, he served as the United States Ambassador to the Holy See, appointed by President George W. Bush. Rooney serves on a number of Advisory Boards, including the University of Notre Dame, and was appointed by Gov. Jeb Bush to the Florida Committee of 100. From 1991-1999 Ambassador Rooney was a Director of the Young Presidents Organization, and served as International President from 1997-1998. He also serves as a Trustee to the Naples Community Hospital Healthcare System and the Naples Children & Education Foundation in Florida. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from Georgetown University in 1975 and graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1978 and is a member of the District of Columbia and Texas Bars.

Ms. Pamela Scholl has been President of the Dr. Scholl Foundation since 1994, which supports a broad range of philanthropic programs and was founded in 1947 by Dr. William M. Scholl. Prior to moving to Chicago, Ms. Scholl spent 17 years of her career at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC. She serves on the Board of Directors of Big Shoulders Fund, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, Chicago Council on Global Affairs, the Chicago 2016 Committee (Olympic bid) and is a member of the Commercial Club of Chicago and the Economic Club of Chicago.

Mr. Stephen A. Schwarzman is Chairman, CEO and Co-Founder of Blackstone and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of its general partner, Blackstone Group Management L.L.C. Schwarzman began his career at Lehman Brothers, where he was elected Managing Director in 1978. He was engaged principally in the firm's mergers and acquisitions business from 1977-1984, and served as Chairman of the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions Committee in 1983 and 1984. Schwarzman is Chairman of the Board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Business Council, and is on the Board of the New York Public Library and the Asia Society. He also serves on the JP Morgan Chase National Advisory Board, the New York City Partnership Board of Directors, the Advisory Board of the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University in Beijing, and is a Trustee of the Frick Collection in New York City. Schwarzman holds a BA from Yale University and an MBA from Harvard Business School and has served as an adjunct professor at the Yale School of Management and on the Harvard Business School Board of Dean's Advisors.

Mr. George Stephanopoulos is ABC News' Chief Washington Correspondent and host of ABC's preeminent Sunday morning political affairs program, "This Week with George Stephanopoulos." Prior to joining ABC News, Stephanopoulos served in the Clinton Administration as the senior adviser to the President for policy and strategy. For more than a decade Stephanopoulos has played a pivotal role in the network's coverage of breaking news stories and Presidential and Congressional politics, while reporting on political and policy stories for all ABC News platforms. "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" has been honored with two Walter Cronkite Awards for Excellence in Television Political Journalism from USC Annenberg for its On the Trail series in 2006 and 2008.

The Honorable Edward L. Weidenfeld has served as Counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives' Committee of Interior and Insular Affairs, as a partner in the McKenna and Cuneo law firm, and as Counsel to the 1980 Reagan-Bush Campaign. In 1983 he founded the Weidenfeld Law Firm, P.C. Three Presidents of the United States have appointed Weidenfeld to advisory positions and he has been an official election observer in the Philippines, Korea, Pakistan, Chile and Albania. He is co-Chair of the Board of Visitors of the National Defense University, a Life Member of the American Law Institute, a member of the American Bar Association, the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, and the Philanthropic Advisors Network, a Director of the Danny and Sylvia Kaye Foundation, and is Secretary of the DC Salvation Army Advisory Board. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and Columbia University School of Law.

The Honorable Togo D. West, Jr. was Secretary of the Army, Secretary of Veterans Affairs, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Panama Canal Commission during the Clinton Administration. In previous Administrations he served as General Counsel of the Department of Defense, General Counsel of the Navy, and Associate Deputy Attorney General in the U.S. Department of Justice. West is a member of the Defense Health Board, was co-Chair of the Department of Defense's Independent Review Group of rehabilitative health care at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center, and has previously served as a member of the Defense Policy Board. He has been named a Distinguished Eagle Scout by the Boy Scouts of America, is currently Chairman of TLI Leadership Group of Noblis, Inc. and of the Advisory Committee to George Washington's Mount Vernon, and is a member of several corporate Boards.

Mr. Stanley R. Zax, Chairman, President and CEO of Zenith National Insurance Corp. for more than 30 years, began his career in 1961 as an associate and then a partner with a Chicago law firm. Previously, he served as Vice President, secretary and general counsel for Hilton Hotels and, from 1973-1976, as President and CEO of Great American Insurance Company. Zax served on the Executive Committee and Board of the Center for Strategic & International Studies from 1976-1999, on the California Little Hoover Commission from 1994-2007, and as a Director of Wynn Resorts from 2002-2007. Currently, Zax is a Director of the Prostate Cancer Foundation and Ford's Theatre.
